Welcome to the RPG-X Wiki Documentation. New to RPG-X? Long-time user? No matter which category you fall under the purpose of this documentation project is to gain knowledge about the Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force Modification called RPG-X and how you can get started. Any unanswered questions can be asked on the RPG-X Forums. History of EF RPG ModsDuring the summer of 2002, a group of people at EFMods forums (no longer in existance) were running a forum-based roleplaying game (aptly titled, "Virtual Game") and thought it would be cool to expand into the three-dimensional realm. Due to everyone living very far apart, constructing replica sets and uniforms in the real world was out of the question (not to mention far too geeky for most of them). Since the focus of EFMods was the game Elite Force, some of the regular visitors started experimenting. Initial tests proved fairly successful, and the first roleplaying group for Elite Force was started - Project: Elite Roleplaying. Many members of the Elite Force community curiously signed on to the project, and various members tried their hand at creating starship maps. Since the game was intended for fragging, many rules ended up being written. Dozens of people roleplayed in an unmodded version of Elite Force for quite a long time. (If you were around back then, w00t!) A few people started exploring what server mods were available, and various mods were found that had something or other that improved the experience, but eventually one mod and one modder rose above the rest... A modder by the name of Steve[FB] had created the Federation Mod, which had some unique features that really improved the roleplaying experience. A roleplayer by the name of Crusader (later known as Tycho) approached Steve[FB] about possibly adding even more features. A few other members of the community pitched in with models and artwork, and it was the first mod to feature dedicated roleplaying classes. Steve[FB] forked the project off into it's own mod, the RPG Mod. Some time between then and now, Steve[FB] released the source code to the RPG Mod, and an Elite Roleplaying member named Phil put his coding skills to work and created the ERPG Mod. Many more roleplaying groups for Elite Force began appearing. Some flourished, while others disappeared as quickly as they appeared. A group of roleplayers from SFEF put their coding skills together and started the RPG-X Mod. The invited the other major roleplaying groups to participate, and the rest is history...
